Books I Read in 2023
Back in March I bought myself a Kobo Libra 2 that completely changed how many fiction books I had read. Now that we’re at the end of the year, I’ve read fourteen books. Of those books, all but one have been from the local library.
The Books
- Dodger, by Terry Pratchett
- Leviathan Wakes, by James S.A. Corey
- Caliban’s War, by James S.A. Corey
- Abbadon’s Gate, by James S.A. Corey
- Cibola Burn, by James S.A. Corey
- Nemesis Games, by James S.A. Corey
- Babylon’s Ashes, by James S.A. Corey
- Persepolis Rising, by James S.A. Corey
- Tiamat’s Wrath, by James S.A. Corey
- Leviathan Falls, by James S.A. Corey
- Sincerely Your Autistic Child, by the Autistic Women and Nonbinary Network
- Wool, by Hugh Howey
- Shift, by Hugh Howey
- Dust, by Hugh Howey
Dodger
This is the first Terry Pratchett book I’ve read and I really enjoyed it. It was a book I could get from my library and I’ve heard that Terry Pratchett was a great author. I loved the dialog and writing of this book and I’m excited to read more of Pratchett’s work next year.
The Expanse Series
I loved all of the books from The Expanse series. It took me a little bit to get into Leviathan Wakes, but after that, I was hooked from beginning to end of the entire book series. I liked that the authors tried to maintain some semblance of reality on space travel while not letting it turn the story into a slog. I was a little sad when I finished the last book but I think it ended on a good note.
Sincerely, Your Autistic Child
While I know I said the Kobo Libra made a huge difference reading fiction, I did also read this book and it was great. This is a must-read for anyone who is a parent or caregiver of an Autistic Person. It is also a good reminder that the experts on Autism are Autistic people themselves. It is written by many people so you get to hear from many perspectives from Autistic people.
The Silo Series
Most recently I finished the Silo series by Hugh Howey. I had actually watched Silo on AppleTV+ before reading the book. The TV show was great and the books were even better.
Books in 2024
I’m looking forward to reading even more books this coming year. I’ll be trying to do better taking notes on how I feel about these books and I think I’ll do more summaries over time.
